By using the Site or submitting a listing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About the Directory

Rockland Spotlight Directory is a free online directory that helps people discover local businesses in Rockland County, New York. Basic listings are free. We may also offer optional paid services, which will be described separately with their own pricing and terms.

2. Business Listings

• You must be the owner or an authorized representative of any business you list.
• You are responsible for making sure your listing is accurate, current, and lawful.
• We may review, edit for formatting or length, decline, or remove any listing at our discretion, including listings that appear inactive, inaccurate, duplicated, or in violation of these Terms.
• A listing does not mean we endorse, recommend, or verify the business.

3. Content You Submit

You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as text, logos, and photos. By submitting it, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and share that content on the Site and in promotion of the directory and its listed businesses, including on our social media and in advertising. You confirm you have the rights to the content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, or illegal content
• List illegal products or services, or impersonate another business or person
• Post fake reviews or manipulate ratings
• Scrape, copy, or harvest listing data for spam or bulk commercial use
• Interfere with the Site's security or operation, or upload malicious code

5. Communications

By submitting a listing or contact form, you agree that we may contact you by email, phone, or text message about your listing and about related marketing services we offer. Where required, we will get your consent before sending text messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts and use the unsubscribe link to opt out of emails at any time. 6. Third-Party Businesses and Links

Listed businesses are independent and are not our agents or partners. Any transaction or dealing between you and a listed business is solely between you and that business. We are not responsible for the products, services, pricing, conduct, or websites of any listed business.

7. Our Intellectual Property

The Site's design, branding, logo, and original content belong to us and may not be copied or used without our written permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Site and all listings are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that information on the Site is accurate, complete, or current, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. We make no promise of any specific results, traffic, leads, or sales from a listing.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of the Site or any listed business. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or $100.

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your listing, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or remove your listing or access to the Site at any time, with or without notice. You may request removal of your listing at any time by contacting us.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Rockland County, New York.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
